If you’re reading this, it’s possible that a school conference or a diagnosis has sent you on a journey and you feel like you don’t have a map. Call us - our knowledgeable staff can assist you in getting the help your student needs.

Our Reading Specialists are not tutors. Reading Specialists are educators who teach students how to read, spell and write in a different way - a way that was designed specifically for people with dyslexia and other learning disabilities. Think of it as Reading Therapy.

When a student learns at OGRS, he/she/they receive individualized, one-to-one Orton Gillingham reading, writing, and spelling instruction from our Reading Specialists online. Our Specialists are supervised by Karen Sonday, Fellow at Orton Gillingham Academy and co-author of The Sonday System Essentials line of Orton Gillingham curricula.

Sessions with a Reading Specialist in Training (ReSiT)

Educators attend classes with us to learn how to become Orton Gillingham Reading Specialists. They are referred to as ReSITS, or “Reading-Specialists-in-Training”.

While these educators are learning, they need students to work with to practice their skills. When you sign up to work with a ReSIT, you are not only helping that educator, you also get a great deal on tuition!
