FAQ’s for Students

About Student Sessions

We usually see students twice per week. However, we could recommend up to four sessions per week, depending on how severe the reading deficit.

We administer criterion-referenced and other informal assessments at the first session to determine your student’s reading and spelling levels and identify gaps in learning. Every four months, we retest so you can see your student’s progress. You’ll also receive frequent reports from your Reading Specialist about what your student has been learning, with comments on progress and suggestions for learning.

Yes. We encourage parents to observe so they can better understand how their child learns, what their child is learning, how to best do Practice Work with their student, and to be an informed advocate for their child.

Yes, there is 25 minutes a day of practice work on non-session days and it is essential to the success of your student. (If your student is enrolled with a Reading Specialist in Training, there is no practice work.)

Cancellations with at least 24 hours’ notice can be rescheduled. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may not be made up.

On enrolling, each parent received login credentials to their TutorBird account. If you can’t find your link, email contactus@ogreading.com.
