Orton Gillingham Training

Orton Gillingham Training – Synchronous Online!

The Orton Gillingham approach to teaching reading (Structured Literacy) is fast becoming the go-to recommendation from diagnosticians and neuropsychologists who refer students with dyslexia or other learning disabilities. In addition, many states are implementing laws that require an explicit, systematic, structured literacy approach (like Orton Gillingham) for teaching reading to these students. Join us in becoming an Orton Gillingham Specialist!

This training is appropriate for anyone teaching students at reading levels pre-reading – 8th grade. Instruction includes the theory and practical components needed to implement the Orton Gillingham approach with a high degree of fidelity. All coursework and direct supervision align with the International Dyslexia Association’s revised 2018 IDA Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading. Lectures are delivered and the practicum is overseen by Karen Sonday, MA. Education. Ms. Sonday is a Fellow of Orton Gillingham Academy. (formerly AOGPE) Lecture and practicum are both held synchronously and online! And - we provide the students for your practicum!
