Advanced Seminar – Intermediate/Advanced Suffixes

Suffixes hold a lot of power in a word. They can result in accent shifts (reside/resident), clarification of a schwa (fatal/fatality), and can change the sounds of letters (critic/criticism). Our focus this evening will not be on the ending rules. We will be focusing on the morphological and phonological impacts of suffixes. We’ll present a sequence for introduction and strategies for teaching them.
